Dolomieu path (6 Alpine meadow path - Rosskopf/Ladurns).
A wonderful day excursion for all the family! Road description: from the Rosskopf mountain to Pflersch, Ochsenalm – Kuhalm – Vallmingalm – Ladurns mountain terminal – Toffringalm - Allrissalm. Walking time: approx. 5 – 6 hours.
The Uferpromenade
Because of its pleasantly shaded position, the Uferpromenade is a popular, gentle walk by the river. It begins at the Sportsground in Gossensass and ends at the Naßtal bridge in Außerpflersch.
Straßberg Ruins
The Straßberg Ruins walk is a pleasant family ramble. From Gossensass walk in the direction of Notenburg, go past Hotel Gudrun and after the Brenner motorway underpass turn right into the wood. After about 30 minutes you reach an old, derelict mill, continue past the mill and in a short distance you will see the Straßberg ruin. From here it is possible to walk further on to Ried or return to Gossensass via the lower footpath which branches off shortly after the old mill.
Hühnerspiel Refuge (Hühnerspielhütte)
Follow the waymarked footpath No.22 from Notenburg. Walk past the Platzhof and continue along the forestry road, which later ends as a track, until the Hühnerspiel Refuge is reached. (Open all the year round). Walking time approx. 2 hours.
Ziroger High level walk
The Ziroger high level walk connects the Hühnerspiel Refuge with the Zirog alpine pastures (Zirogalm) at Brennerbad. The walk, which runs beneath the treeline and traverses the high level Larch woods, is easily managed by experienced walkers. Route: From Gossensass follow the waymarked path No.22 to the Hühnerspiel Refuge and from there walk along the marked high level footpath No. 11 until you reach the Zirog alpine pasture (Zirogalm, Enzian Refuge Zirog, Leitneralm, Gröbneralm, Luegeralm, Postalm). The pastures are not often inhabited. The Enzian Refuge is open! A descent to Brennerbad or Brenner is possible. Walking time approx. 6 hours.
Tribulaun Refuge (Tribulaunhütte)
The Tribulaun Refuge is situated on the rim of the Sandes lake in the shadow of the Pflersh Tribulaun. It is a base for many climbing and mountain tours and also for easy rambles. A trek just up to the Refuge itself makes an excellent day tour. The Tribulaun Refuge can be reached by following the waymarked footpath No. 8 from Weiler Stein. Walking time approx. 3 hours.
Magdeburger Refuge (Magdeburgerhütte)
The Magdeburger Refuge stands in a superb position under the Schneespitze (Snow Pinnacle)right at the back of the Pflersch valley. The Refuge is also called the “Schneespitze Refuge”. From Innerpflersch the waymarked footpath No. 6 ascends easily at first and then more steeply up to the Refuge which, incidentally, does not appear into view until the very last section! Walking time approx. 3 hours.
Allriss Pasture (Allrissalm)
To reach the managed Allriss Pasture follow footpath No. 27 from Innerpflersch (St. Anton) over a moderately steep area. Walking time approx. 60 min.
Waterfall “Zur Hölle” (The Hell)
Out of a small rocky gorge cascades the raging “Zur Holle” waterfall over a steeply-angled rock step (Innerpflersch). It is also designated as a natural barometer, i.e. by good weather it “smokes” (the mists rises) and by bad weather it doesn’t! The height of the waterfall is approximately 46 metres. At the top righthand edge of the waterfall a small hayshack can be seen. Only a 40 minute walk from the parking place in Stein.
Ochsen Refuge (1700 m) (Ochsenhütte)
1) From the starting point in Stein/Innerpflersch an easy footpath leading through the pasture on the sunny side of the valley, takes us in the direction of the Ochsen Refuge. (1.5 h)
2) Along the forestry track underneath the Stein farm houses a footpath branches off left and leads likewise in 1.5 hours to the Ochsen Refuge.
3) If a shorter walk is preferred, it is possible to drive by car up the forestry road to a barrier and from here wander leisurely in 45 minutes to the Refuge.
4) Just right of the barrier a signpost points in the direction of the “Pflerscher Holle” (waterfall). From here we can also reach our destination over the pasture in approximately 45 minutes.
Admire the unadulterated nature and flora and fauna, as well as the majestic mountains , the imposing glacier and the well.known awe-inspiring Tribulaun.
