Audire

In the alpine landscape of Ladurns, South Tyrol, AUDĪRE invites visitors to a shared practice of listening on 23 August 2026 from 2:00 PM onwards. The festival unfolds as a sequence of encounters between people, environment, and sound. The meadow becomes a space of attention embedded within the mountain landscape, where the boundaries between outer and inner perception begin to shift.

Through sound walks, live performances, and site-specific works, audiences move between different modes of listening: between focused perception and open awareness, between individual experience and collective resonance. Listening is experienced as an active practice that connects space, memory, and presence.

The artistic works bring together field recordings, voice, electronic systems, and acoustic instruments. Sounds emerge from natural and technological processes, from wood, metal, air, and physical presence. Themes such as natural cycles, nocturnal atmospheres, diasporic memories, and technological mediation become audible. Voices appear, disappear, and merge with their surroundings.

Some of the participating artists have a close connection to the region. Their works draw on local soundscapes, personal memories, and experiences of origin and belonging. This creates a dynamic interplay between the familiar and the unfamiliar, everyday life and artistic reflection, raising questions about arriving in, remaining in, and leaving a place.

The audience is not merely a group of listeners but an active part of an evolving acoustic field. Visitors are invited to move freely throughout the site and to bring their own blankets or seating. Attention, silence, and presence become essential components of the experience itself.

AUDĪRE is not conceived as a linear programme, but as an open space and an invitation to listen differently.
